On Tuesday morning, October 15, a gathering of VIPs will stand high on a bluff in the White Tank Mountains to reveal the vision and the name for Verrado’s new active adult district. DMB Associates will break new ground in the active adult category by creating a place for the next wave of Baby Boomers to live, learn, and play.
DMB Associates, developer of Verrado, an 8,800-acre community in Buckeye, has spent the past three years consulting with multiple Boomer lifestyle experts, including doctors, fitness experts, educators, nonprofits and Boomers, to inform decisions on land planning, amenities, activities and lifestyle.
The Valley is the birthplace of the active adult community and one of the most competitive markets in the U.S., so Verrado’s active adult district is being developed with unprecedented information about the changing Boomer and their lifestyles.
This will be the first active adult community concept in Arizona to offer homes built by multiple homebuilders. The district will have approximately 3,500 homes in an array of home styles and sizes at build out. The site of the groundbreaking, which offers 180 degree views of the region and the mountain canyons, will be the future site of the active adult district’s community club.
Event speakers include the Honorable Jackie A. Meck, Mayor of Buckeye and Verrado resident, and Charley Freericks, president of DMB.
“As with all of our communities, we take great pride and responsibility in developing a great place for people to live and thrive,” Freericks said. “To integrate an active adult district in Verrado is a wonderful addition to the community’s small town atmosphere.”
The groundbreaking ceremony for Verrado’s active adult district will take place at 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 15 at the Verrado Welcome Center, 21029 W. Main Street in Buckeye. All guests are required to wear closed-toed shoes.
