Golden opportunities: Capitalizing on the ‘Baby Boom’ generation

Valley Partnership has announced the topic for its upcoming monthly breakfast on Friday, May 30th. The panel at this month’s breakfast will feature a candid discussion about the 50+ consumer and trends in their housing, service and consumer needs. Panelists will discuss the impact those trends are having on the commercial real estate industry.

The Baby Boomer Lifestyle Trends discussion panel will feature Nick Taratsas, senior vice president with DMB Associates, Inc. and general manager of Verrado ARC; Brendan Morrow, director, senior living, The Weitz Company; and Margaret Wylde, president and CEO, ProMatura Group, a global market research and advisory firm specializing in 50+ consumers and their housing, services, consumer products, customer service, marketing and sales. The panel will be moderated by Jeff Chaves, senior business development manager, The Weitz Company.

“Over the next decade, thousands of middle-aged transplants will migrate to Arizona to begin second careers and improve their quality of life,” said Richard Hubbard, president and CEO of Valley Partnership. “This migration will have a significant impact on our development, commercial real estate and business communities. Valley Partnership is excited to bring these experts together to educate our partners on both the opportunities and challenges that will arise because of this trend.”

In addition to the panel discussion Valley Partnership’s annual community project recipient will be announced. Each year, Valley Partnership selects a non-profit organization that can benefit from the skills, efforts and supplies provided by our partners to renovate and enhance facilities for those in need in our communities. Over the past 25 years, Valley Partnership has contributed over $3.5 million to the Valley through these Projects. In 2013 Valley Partnership selected Save the Family Foundation’s Escobedo at Verde Vista Affordable Housing Development, where Partners came together to transform the facilities for the families who use them.

“One of Valley Partnership’s cornerstones is community service. As the Valley of the Sun’s premier advocacy group for responsible development, our ultimate goal is to build stronger communities,” said Hubbard. “Our partners span all aspects of the commercial, industrial and master planned real estate development industry, which allows us to draw on a multitude of resources to serve the Valley and make it a better place to live and work for all residents.”
