PHOENIX, ARIZ. – Hines, the international real estate firm, is pleased to announce the hiring of Robert Trujillo as a managing director and Jim Bulsiewicz as a development associate.
Trujillo will expand Hines’ multifamily development business in Arizona and Colorado. He brings more than 21 years of experience in real estate development in major markets on the East Coast. Previously, Trujillo was the vice president of development for Lennar Multifamily Communities where he was responsible for developing five properties in Washington D.C. and Phoenix. He earned his Master of Architecture at the University of New Mexico and his Bachelor of Architecture at the University of Kentucky.
“Robert will be integral to enhancing our multifamily strategy as we proactively expand our business opportunities in this sector,” said Chris Anderson, managing director and Arizona leader for Hines. “He has deep real estate industry expertise, experience and relationships.”
Bulsiewicz will assist in evaluating new development and acquisition opportunities within the office, retail, multifamily and self-storage sectors for the Arizona and New Mexico markets. He recently earned his Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. While studying for his graduate degree, he interned at WP Global Partners in Chicago.
Prior to pursuing his MBA, he spent four years in Charlotte, North Carolina working for CBRE’s Corporate Development group where he played an integral role in 16 of the firm’s acquisitions. He has been involved with ULI, NAIOP, and Kellogg Inner City Mentoring Club.

Hines is in the process of diversifying its Arizona portfolio. In May 2018, Hines announced it was breaking ground on the Valley’s first Class A self-storage facility in Gilbert and plans to build three to five more a year in well-populated growing suburban areas with high incomes. Hines recently topped out the Offices at Chandler Viridian, the capstone to Chandler Viridian, a 25-acre mixed-use development. The Chandler Viridian master plan developmentincludes the Offices at Chandler Viridian, a Cambria hotel & suites, Broadstone Fashion Center luxury apartments, sophisticated retail offerings at Chandler Viridian PRIMEGATE and a pedestrian promenade to the Chandler Fashion Center mall.
In September 2017, Hines announced its first residential project in the state, called Asteria Highlands. The new gated neighborhood in North Scottsdale will include 40 acres and 31 single-family lots. Also in the Phoenix market, Hines owns Kierland One, a Class A 175,441-square-foot office building in the North Scottsdale Airpark submarket, and Goodyear Crossing II, a Class A industrial warehouse in Goodyear.
