Off To the Races: Proxy333 Sees Rapid Leasing Velocity

Downtown Phoenix’s newest multifamily property opened its doors for new residents Friday, June 17th, and is seeing new leases rapidly follow. Within the first month of opening its doors, Proxy333 is 25 percent leased.


Proxy333, located at 333 E. McKinley St., immediately west of the Biomed campus, was co-developed by Scottsdale’s Tilton Development Company and Seattle-based Goodman Real Estate. The 118-unit, six-story urban infill project is built from the ashes of a decades-old building.


Studios and one-bedroom units are the most popular.


“Proxy333 was built for that young professional who doesn’t need a lot of space,” says Pinnacle Living Regional Property Manager Stacey Manzella.

The community features live-work units along McKinley ideal for creative types, such as architects or designers, who can use the bottom floor of their apartment as an office and live in the loft above.


“Many of our new residents happen to be existing downtowners who understand and embrace the ability to walk and bike to work in the morning and favorite restaurants at night,” Manzella says. “A lot of credit goes to our developers and design team, who worked culture into the foundation of this community.”


Proxy333 has five site-specific mural pieces by Phoenix artist of 32 years, Noe “Such” Baez also known as Such Styles. Baez’s work is homage to the lot’s original office building constructed in the ‘60s and embellished with graffiti and murals. Styles’ work appears in the leasing lobby, fitness center, recreational deck area and public restrooms, including a portrait of a florist tenant from the lot’s original business center.


Other unique features include a grassy dog run and washing station, a sixth-floor rooftop sky deck, third-floor pool deck with a bocce ball court, outdoor fire pits and concrete Ping-Pong tables, outdoor kitchen with a lounge area and outdoor TVs. The unit mix includes studios; one-bedroom alcoves; one-bedroom alcoves with a den; one-bedroom, two-bathrooms with a den; two-bedroom, two-bathroom units; one-bedroom, two-bathroom; two-story live-work units with frontage windows facing 4th and McKinley streets. Proxy333 has two-story podium-style parking.


UEB is the general contractor, Studio Meng Strazzara is the architect of record, Creative License International is the interior designer and Studio Sprawl is the landscape architect.
